Speech - Australian Verse

Speech - Group Speaking Ensemble

Choirs up to 50 Voices

Primary School Group Speaking - members from Prep to year 6. Both A and B to be performed selecting contrasting nature.

Drama - Original Character Recital

One character only – costume optional. This recital is to be devised by the student/teacher/parent. It is an ORIGINAL character and therefore not found in an existing story, play or monologue. Be creative and original and have fun. Author to be acknowledged on copy. These characters are to be original.

Drama - Group Mime with Music

3 - 8 Players

Own Choice. Group is required to devise a Mime sequence to music. The Mime can be either in the style of thematic, abstract or literal. Title and style of piece must be submitted to session convenor on a piece of paper along with session and competitor number before presenting. NO COSTUMES.

Drama - Group Improvisation

3 - 8 Players

Own Choice. Group is required to devise a scene by creating speech and action based on a theme provided by the adjudicator. A balance of speech and action is required. A warning bell will be rung at the 3 minute mark. No pre-prepared work eligible.

Drama Championship

  Competitors must do both
a) Monologue from a published play before 1940 (Not Shakespearean) AND
b) Monologue from a published play or film script post 1940.
Both pieces- Maximum time limit of 5 minutes
17 Junior Drama Championship 11 - 14 years 2.5 mins $15
  Competitors are to do both
a) Character Recital from a published play (2.5 minutes max) AND
b) An improvisation of 2.5 minutes topic given by the examiner. (Warning Bell at 2 minutes).

COMPETITORS SHOULD AVOID THE USE OF WORDS AND MATERIAL THAT ARE NOT REGARDED AS ACCEPTABLE IN A FAMILY GROUP OR POLITE SOCIETY. CONTESTANTS USING “UNACCEPTABLE” WORDS COULD FACE DISQUALIFICATION.
